Rolf Gartmann new security consultant at Open Systems
Open Systems reinforces its consulting team with Rolf Gartmann, a recognised specialist in IT security.
Rolf Gartmann, 39, joined Open Systems, the leading Swiss provider of global network security, on June 1, 2010 to act as security consultant. Mr Gartmann studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and holds a degree in computer engineering (Dipl. Ing. ETH). He added legal, criminological and commercial theory to his established technical skills by taking a Master of Advanced Studies in Economic Crime Investigation at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Lucerne.
Before joining Open Systems, Mr Gartmann worked in the IT network and telecommunications environment, spending the last eight years with SWITCH, the Swiss National Research and Education Network (NREN). Among other things, the security specialist was co-responsible at SWITCH for cooperation with the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), a global association of internationally recognised computer emergency response teams (CERTs) which Open Systems has belonged to since 2002. Mr Gartmann is a member of various international associations in the field of IT and network security. He is the author of various technical articles and a popular conference speaker.
